Rob SpotLight on Success: Post-Google Ad-Driven Business Models

My radio show tomorrow at 7pm will be about Email Noggin, and email list management system I own, similar to Constant Contact, is switching to an ad-driven business plan similar to Google. You get to send email with no additional cost and Email Noggin gets a small, simple line of text with a link. Of course the text is pre-approved by the business owner. There is a small fee to set up your HTML email template, but after that, you're on autopilot. We're s… Continue

Elise Crawford Family Discussion

Now I don't mean to be Marsha about it all, but aren't families supposed to support each other so each will succeed ? Ok then. While I was catching up with tagging, I've finished E's, F's, and G's, I noticed many of my author siblings
are still without tags or only have two or three. Now how many are there of us ? Ummmhmm.... Now let's have a big family group hug and go get some tags y'all !

John DeDakis Change is Good

Not long ago, one of my writing students came to me, vexed because she was making so many changes to the story she was writing. Even though my response was tailored to writing, it applies to life, too.

Here's what I told her:

Change is a good thing. Get used to the idea of ch

Elise Crawford About A Promise Kept

One seemingly ordinary day, Elise Crawford’s life would change forever. Through almost unbearable tragedy and loss, one thing that kept her going was a promise…

A Promise Kept tells the heart wrenching true story of how the author comes to terms with a horrifying tragedy. Through obstacles and betrayals—stripped of everything she’d worked so hard for, exiled into a cold pre Christmas night with two small children—she ultimately discovers the power of faith.

In this memoir, Elis… Continue

Rob New Article About Power Technology & Deregulation in New York

Summary: What, if anything did we learn from Enron? Can it be applied to the new wave of Power Generation firms? How will technology play a roll in the deregulation wave? An article from as far back as 2001 in the Wall Street Journal written by some folks at the Manhattan Institute nailed it, in my opinion. Enron was a first round deregulation company, and rather than spelling the end of deregulation, it instead, taught us a lot about power deregulation, and maybe most of all, what not to do, an… Continue

Nancy T. Bush "DAYMARES" - A Novel - Synopsis, Excerpt and Author Bio

Brief Author Bio/Novena T. Beget DAYMARES – A Novel I am a beginning writer in the reference/polishing stages of my first novel. I actually enjoyed making books as a child, and kept small journals periodically, but nothing as serious as my first work. The seed of compelling urge existed through the years and I did possess the foresight to record important events, many of which live and breathe in DAYMARES. The scratching of dates and notes on paper erupted into increased content, as ironically,… Continue

Rob Tech Talk - News & Reviews: Cisco Linksys Wireless-N Broadband Router

This purchase was one of the best $80 I have spent in a long time. The older Linksys routers were working fine, but after we added several more WIFI devices, which just about everything has these days, we reached the limit of the older routers. This new router is really an amazing piece of technology. It is incredibly safe from a hacker/security perspective. It has the 128 bit encryption and a WIFI safe mode. When you add devices you need the password, and an encryption key, but there is another… Continue

Rob Email Scams, Urban Legends Debunked

The following email is gripping and a great story, but like so many, it is altered and inaccurate. John DeDakis 1959 Fatal Car-Train Collision Leads to Novel

On the night of December 20, 1959 – fifty years ago today -- I was sitting in the left front seat of the Vista-Dome car of the Burlington Zephyr passenger train as it hurtled through northern Illinois on its way from Chicago toward my hometown of La Crosse, Wisconsin. The engineer would later tell a coroner’s jury that he was going 90 miles an hour (legal at the time) as we rounded a gentle curve at the tiny town of Chadwick. From my vantage point in the darkened dome car near the front of the… Continue
